Oppo Find X9 Pro: The Flagship That Outsmarts Samsung and iPhone with Unmatched Camera Magic

Introduction — what OPPO tried to build

oppo find x9 pro is aimed squarely at people who want a flagship camera phone that doesn’t compromise anywhere else. It brings a fresh camera setup, a huge battery, and a premium build wrapped in ColorOS 16 on Android 16. If you’re after long haul battery life plus top-tier stills and video, the X9 Pro promises a very attractive mix. But does it deliver in real-world use? Spoiler: mostly yes — with a few sensible trade-offs.

First impressions — design and ergonomics

The Find X9 Pro looks and feels like a premium phone. Think matte Gorilla Glass on the back, a flat aluminum frame, and a distinctive square camera island that gives the device its own visual identity. Despite packing a massive 7,500 mAh battery, the phone sits at around 224 g — heavy, but not unwieldy.

There’s a little hardware slider / button near the top (similar in concept to recent iPhone hardware controls) that can mute the phone or be remapped to other shortcuts — a nice physical touch that Android flagships don’t always include. IP68 / IP69 ingress protection means it’s built to survive real-world use.

The display — bright, adaptive, and excellent for media

The Find X9 Pro uses a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh ceiling and adaptive down to 1 Hz. The display is sharp (≈450 ppi), contrasty, and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, making it an excellent canvas for movies and photos. In everyday testing the panel ramps high enough for comfortable outdoor use and is pleasantly fluid in animations thanks to LTPO’s dynamic refresh capabilities.

One odd limitation: high frame-rate gaming above 60 fps proved unavailable in our testing — the screen itself is excellent, but the software/hardware combination seems to cap gaming to 60 fps for now.

Performance — flagship silicon, strong but thermally limited

Under the hood sits the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a top-tier chip that competes with other 2025 flagship silicon. It delivers excellent CPU, GPU, and AI performance — everything from heavy multitasking to demanding mobile games runs smoothly. Benchmarks show clear improvement over last year’s model and real-world usage is snappy.

That said, sustained stress tests reveal thermal throttling: under long, heavy loads the SoC reduces performance to manage heat. For most users this won’t be a daily problem, but power users and extended benchmarking sessions will notice dips.

Storage options go up to 1 TB UFS 4.1 and RAM configurations are generous. No microSD slot, which is standard for many flagships now.

Battery & charging — where the X9 Pro steals the show

This is the Find X9 Pro’s headline: a 7,500 mAh “silicon carbon” battery that delivers some of the best endurance we’ve seen on any flagship. Active use scores are exceptional — the phone easily lasts through a day and a half to two days for most users and can push far beyond that on light use.

Charging is fast and flexible: 80 W SuperVOOC wired charging plus support for wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. In practical testing, using OPPO’s fast charger takes you from empty to roughly half in about 30 minutes, and the included high-wattage charger fills the tank faster than standard USB-PD chargers. For heavy users and travellers, the battery life alone is a compelling reason to consider this phone.

Cameras — flexible, detailed, and feature rich

OPPO leaned into optics and versatility for the X9 Pro:

  • Main camera: 50 MP sensor (new hardware) — excellent detail, accurate colors, great dynamic range. Low-light shots are especially strong.
  • Telephoto: a 200 MP 3x telephoto lens (captures 12 MP outputs) that produces superb mid-range zoom images with good texture and natural tones.
  • Ultra-wide: 50 MP with autofocus — sharp, wide, and usable at night.
  • Front: 50 MP autofocus — a solid upgrade for high-detail selfies and reliable video.

Images have pleasing color science and steady dynamic range; portraits look natural with tasteful background separation. The dedicated 3x telephoto handles most everyday zoom needs very well, and OPPO also offers an optional teleconverter accessory that pushes optical reach to 10x. The clip-on converter is neat for distant subjects, but it adds bulk and blocks the other cameras when attached, so it’s a niche tool for specific shooting scenarios.

Video

Video recording is class-leading: 4K at 60 fps is available across cameras, and the main/tele cameras can even do 4K 120 fps slow motion. Stabilization is excellent, low-light video is impressive, and overall footage looks vivid with wide dynamic range. Microphone and wind sensitivity are typical of phones — good, but external mics still help for professional use.

Software & AI — ColorOS 16 with plenty of tricks

ColorOS 16 on Android 16 is familiar, polished, and stocked with AI features. OPPO bundles useful tools: an AI writer, on-device translation and transcription, an “AI Recorder” that summarizes voice notes, and an image studio that can generate or edit visuals. There’s also a handy search shortcut on the home screen for settings and in-app functions.

OPPO promises five OS updates and six years of security patches, which is reassuring for long-term ownership.

Speakers, biometrics and extras

Stereo speakers sound balanced and loud; OPPO dialed back overly bright highs for a more pleasant tuning. The ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display is fast and reliable. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6E (depending on region), and Bluetooth with the expected codecs.

Verdict — who should buy the Find X9 Pro?
